Attaching The Daisy To The Background

Find the centre of the 17 inch background square by folding in half and then half again, finger press and open the square back out. Centre the daisy and pin in place to secure.

Attach the outer edge of the daisy to the background- you can choose to applique the daisy by hand or by machine. With this sample I have attached it with a straight stitch close to the edge.

Give everything a good press.

Once attached, turn to the wrong side and cut away the background fabric underneath the daisy. The reason why we cut this away is so that you don’t have too many layers to quilt through when you come to quilt it. It also saves some fabric as you can use this offcut to cut out the circle for your centre circle.
