Take your polystyrene ring and place on a flat surface. 
Using your pointy utensil (pencil, knitting needle, bamboo stick etc) poke a hole into the the side of the ring.
Continuing up make a row of holes
Add a squirt of glue into each hole.
Wrapping the fabric around the tip of the pencil, poke it into the hole, being careful not to pierce the fabric.
Continue to fill the other holes with alternate fabrics.
Working in small sections, continue to make holes, add the glue and then filling the holes with fabrics. If you would like a densely packed wreath, make the holes closer together.
Continue to add these sections until the ring is full.
