Finishing off the hems

Overlock or neaten the sleeve hem sewing across the shoulder seam. Make sure the seam stays flat towards the back or it will twist and create a bump in the seam.

Gently steam the seam open and flat.

Turn up the hem by 1cm and sew in place with a stretch stitch or twin needle.

Turn the T-shirt inside out so the right sides are together.

Match up the sleeve hems and follow down to match up the garment hems. Sew the side seams with a 1cm seam allowance either with an overlocker or using a stretch stitch.

Lightly press the seam to the front. At the sleeve hem sew a small row of stitching to hold the seam allowance in place.

Neaten or overlock the hem. Press up 2cm and top-stitch in place using a stretch stitch or twin needle.
