How To Make a Placemat

To make 1 placemat.

1. Pin the 2 background strips (Colour C 3 ½ inch x 8 ¼ inch strips) either side of the star block. Stitch together and press seam to one side.
2. Pin and sew 2 long strips of colour C to the top and bottom of the star block. Trim the edges if needed. This is the front of your tablemat.
3. Pin the backing and the front, right sides together and sew around the edge leaving a 15 cm gap in one short end. Clip the corners and turn through to the right side. Give everything a good press and slip stitch the gap closed. Repeat for the other 3 table mats.
